Our goal is to ensure that anyone using the Foodsbasics website has a comfortable and rewarding experience, going above and beyond the recommendations stated in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, 1998.
Our drive: a better web for everyone
To help us make the Foodsbasics website a safe, positive, and adequate space for every user, we continue to refer to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 . In short, these guidelines describe ways for making web content more accessible for people with disabilities, more compatible with assistive technologies, and more user-friendly in general. Three levels of accessibility have been described in the guidelines (A, AA, and AAA). We have chosen Level AA as the target for the Foodsbasics website.
How are we working to achieve this goal?
We’ve worked hard on the Foodsbasics website, hiring certified professionals at Mejix Inc to help us align with WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility . The pages included in the scope of work are the Homepage and the Global Elements (Header, Footer, Navigation, Search Function). In addition, to ensure full accessibility, we continue to conduct testing using NVDA, JAWs, and proprietary software.
STATEMENT OF EXCLUSION
Some areas of our website provided by third-party vendors may not be accessible or usable by everyone equally. We have contacted those providers and requested that they correct any code that does not comply with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines, and we hope to update those areas as soon as possible. Excluded areas include the following: Paytronix Systems, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
We will monitor the Foodsbasics website regularly to maintain our ongoing commitment to delivering a site accessible to the largest possible audience. If you have any concerns regarding the usability of our website or discover a feature that is yet inaccessible, do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Foodsbasics will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your requests.
